Discussion thread [Serious]

I would be interested to hear your opinion on the Jonas Brothers...
They stand for the same no-sex-before-marriage thing, but they're also a terrible Disney funded band...

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
To be honest, brutally, I can't stand disney, and I can't stand the Jonas Brothers... or Fallout Boy... Or really any of those 'popular' bands, especially Hannanananaana Montana... well mostly kuz she's countryesque. Disney hasn't sat well w/ me in the past, some of their newer movies are ok, but Pixar is to thank for most of that. But the 'popular' bands are just... well like Thinger put it, they are in it for cash, but make it seem like they care. Maybe they do care about ... what ever it is they pretend to care about, health, drugs, etc, but I don't buy it! Fallout boy only had one redeeming quality and that's their cover of Beat It. Wasn't fantastic, but it was better than their other stuff. I don't mean to offend anyone and apologize to Domtar in advance, but I can't stand that genre of music personally, it's better than country though... The Jonas Brothers bother me with their, 'were stars not trying to be stars and cool follow our lead' thing they seem to say to me... and I'm sick of these teen star singers that are around for a little bit, then people notice that they suck, then they die, someone takes their place. Wait... I recognize this. It's the boy band thing all over again! HELP ME! Well at least it's not all there is to listen to. I'm glad to know there is always better music, and more importantly, I'm glad that even though I really don't like the Jonas Brother, Fallout Boy and other bands like them that can't be grouped together with any other word than 'popular', I'm just relieved that it isn't country noise, that type of wide spread popularity and constant playing of country music would drive me insane! So that's what i have to say about that.
Pros: Not country noise
Cons: Everything else
Sorry for the rant.

Stop with the off-topic! I'll delete any posts that are off-topic after this, it was meant to be a discussion thread not a thread to guess my name...

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
What do you mean exactly? I personally think marriage is a great thing when people are ready for it.

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
Yes, it's a great thing... However in Belgium at least, it has lost it's meaning...
According to statbel, the number of divorces is rapidly catching up the number of marriages...
In 2008, 45.613 people married (climbing +0,1% since last year)... In the same year, 35.366 people divorced (climbing +17,6% since last year)...
I think it's a bad thing that it has lost it's meaning... I wish I would have been raised in a more Catholic environment...
The procedure of divorces are getting easier and easier, until the point that they get their own hotkey...

Marriage hasn't lost it's meaning, it's just so much easier to escape now.
