All the things that make people what they are are deadly sins...

the sins are

Extravagance and Lust
Lust includes fornication which is ridiculous, as marriages usually lead to unhappiness (and divorce) most of the time, as most marriages are not thought through.

Gluttony
The following count as gluttony:
Eating too soon (I really don't understand this)
Eating expensively (expensive food tastes better than cheap stuff)
Eating too much (I can understand this, but I don't think it's right to call people overweight from eating sinners)
Eating to eagerly (If you want to have dinner earlier because you enjoy it, you're a sinner, basically)
there are others, but I don't fully understand what they mean

Greed
This one tickles me the most, as churches and monistaries were some of the wealthiest and greediest of places in europe. Everyone is greedy, and everyone wants more than they have.

Acedia
Apparently it means to neglect to care or love something... I am pretty much imcapable of caring for others, which I think is because of my AS.

Despair
Dissatisfaction or discontent. Wanted to be an astronaut and are sad that you never became one? You're a sinner. Born into a working class family with low funds that couldn't aford to get you higher education, making you unhappy that you couldn't get a higher paying job? You're a sinner.

Sloth
Being lazy... I don't know a person who isn't lazy... we all are, like we're all greedy.

Wrath
The only understandable deadly sin. It means anger, and this covers crimes like assault, muder and genocide. I would presume it also covers anger without damage done though, which is unconrolable, as people will always make you angry.

Pride
The worst sin. to think you are great. we all do it (some more than others admittedly) but why is it a sin? it doesn't harm anyone. If I said I was the better person, you would accuse me of beig vain and you would feel inside that you were the better person because of this.
I am the son and heir
Of nothing in particular

that's not true, and even if was, don't you think it's a sin? that it's a bad thing? Greed is pretty much killing the human race atm.

of course this is not about being sad that you never became an astronaut.. and you know that, you just wanted to make it look pathetic. The bad thing is if you can't appreciate good things that you have. (preferably not material goods, but i wouldn't go into this)

pride itself shouldn't be a sin, but in excess, like you, it is indeed disgusting. And to say that it doesn't harm anyone? you can easily hurt the feelings of people with less pride, without you noticing or caring. But of course the importance of this can be disputed.

Overall, i don't see why do you even care what things are "officially" considered deadly sins. Everyone has their own values and priorities, built on the values they've been (hopefully) taught by their parents, and perhaps religion. But it's up to you what rules do you choose to follow, it's not the law, it's your morals. (if you have any)
