Honestly, I don't think braces make that much of a difference to someone. You barely see them, and they are needed for that person's health/whatever, like glasses.

Exactly. Only glasses are for a lifetime and braces are temporary.

Not always. A friend of my dad has had braces since he was like 7, and he's 44 now, I think.
