(not so) Fun fact: "Rio de Janeiro" in portuguese means "January River".

I heard that there is only half the number of hotels needed in the city at the moment... It sounds like a bad choice.

7 years till it starts... Plenty of people will have the idea by then. And even so, I don't think there wouldn't be enough hotels.

Isn't Brazil quite a poor country though? can they afford to host the Olympics?

That's just a stereotype... I rarely see someone poor.

Neither do I, but there are a lot of poor people in Britain.

I'm pretty sure it is just a stereotype in Brazil. (I mean of course it has, every country does, but it is not poor at all)
The media is too precipitated.

And another thing was, that I also have a problem with London having the Olympics is that I thought that the country had to make a promise to make their country, and the world through that, a better place. China has given no evidence of this yet, and neither has Britain. Will Brazil do the same and let me down?

What do you mean by "making the country a better place"? The president nearly cried.

Yeah, but we're already doing those things, but there are people who illegally cut trees from the Amazonian forest
