I forget that you youngin's don't know of a world without the InterWeb. Why, back in the day, before we had all of these electrons and such, if you wanted to correspond with someone you had to write them a letter and use the post.
I remember my first computer. It was called a Typewriter.

Sure thing, sonny. Why don't you kids gather round as I spin some lore. I'll tell you about the rise and fall of Saturday Morning Cartoons. And Fruit Roll-ups.

Yes, children, 'twas a fine time...when Pop Tarts and Eggos ruled breakfast, the Kool-Aid man got his big break, snap bracelets and parachute pants were in style, West Germany reigned supreme, gas prices hovered around $1.00 a gallon, Happy Meals were still happy, and there were still Communists worth fighting against. You had no computer to stare at, and most basic cable channels were still in their infancy, so in order to have fun you actually had to go outside and do stuff. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Well, just think about how crazy it will seem to you when you raise your kids and the lives they lead implanted with silicon chips and such.

I know about life before computers. I've read more than three books about the computer revolution. Back in the days of the IBM Hulking Giants, with their sixteen registers and Flexowriter terminals. Oh, I know, alright. I, unlike the average idiotic American child, can live without computers. Oddly enough, I am a computer geek. However, I know full well how life was back then. Not from experience, but from learning.

Oh, wow! How could a kid live without internet, and Facebook, and Myspace, and all these other stupid online chat things?! I can't believe they acutally WENT OUTSIDE! Geez, what did they do out there, play hide and seek? I can't believe they lived without all these iPhones, computers, and video games!

No pop tarts, eggos or kool-aid in my fair country.

I so want to see this band live. My dad went to a three day festival down in so-cal to see these guys last year. Its not the music that makes this band so cool, its how fun the concerts are.
We're all in this together, and we love to take a bath.

Well, we never really had waffles or punch in my country much anyway, in the way you speak of it.
I do remember saturday morning cartoons though. A lot of the ones from the late 1980s and early 1990s were still in syndication when I was younger. We also had Fruit Winders in the UK, which are exactly the same as fruit roll ups.
