Would I date myself if I said I remember when Legos didn't come in sets and kids had to use their actual imagination to create things from generic pieces?

But I suppose I can't date myself because I am not a hermaphrodite.

But I don't think they started selling just sets exclusively until the late 1990s when Lego was about to go under and hitched a ride on the Star Wars train.
