if there is a conditional statement, you have to assume it's true if the condition is false.
ie if cookies are disgusting, JKL; is good. you have to assume that the statement is true since cookies are not disgusting, but if they were, JKL; might be good (le gasp!)
however, if you said "if this statement is true, the world will end in 5 minutes" you get a paradox.
and that is our logic lesson for today.
