With the fact that the only techno band I like are daft punk and the genki rockets (are they techno?) I'm not sure I'd like it.

I'm not sure what is considered techno and what is borderline techno.....There's a lot of bands I listen to that incorporate synthesizers and all that, but I don't think they're considered techno.
