the "ignored words" on phpbb have something to do with how the search indexing works, I think it's possible to change those settings but then it would have to re-index the whole board or something.

let's setup an elastic search cluster with a nosql db to store everything and rewrite everything in rails 4 times, one per ruby version

dunno, it seems the people that wrote the stuff I maintain today decided that was a good idea with some perl sprinkled on it
