There's actually an extension for that that I could install. If I have time I'll try to figure out if it's possible to do that on a per-user basis optionally (I'd prefer if you could set which side you'd like, in your user preferences. Not sure if that's currently possible, but perhaps with some coding we can make it happen.) Not promising anything though...
