Yup. shame on me for being a straight white male.
VIEWS ON PRIVILEGE: So privilege is just that depending on certain things (race, gender, attractiveness, wealth, etc) someone has better opportunities in certain situations? okay, well nobody has a right to opportunity, this is a capitalist society with so many choices for everyone, that does not mean you have a right to any of them, it is a wondrous privilege you have been granted. You have freedom, and it's up to how good you are to decide which opportunities arrive to you.

I wonder what's triggering this kind of reaction, it seems pretty common. Is a societal shift in ideas about acceptance and inclusivity causing some white men and boys to feel insecure about themselves now, feeling like they can finally play the victim? No offense Froggy, I don't mean to attack you with this, it's just a common thing to see these days.

I will never understand this obsession with "rights" vs "privileges".
People keep touting what is and isn't a right, as if there's some universal truth in those opinions. So often you can hear "something is a right!!" or "something is NOT a right!" used as a way to shut down discussion and shut out any form of disagreement on that. While I think the entire concept of "rights" should be a thing we can always discuss and refine as society changes and evolves.

Agreed, society needs to be open to it's own evolution.

I'm not offended, I don't get offended easily. I think the change is that people look at white men/boys as inherently (for lack of better words: dangerous or evil) and they also impose guilt (I know some people say guilt is a person emotion, nobody can make you feel guilty, but it's the same way someone can make someone else angry, nobody ever forces you to feel something: but emotions are a reaction to a stimulation (example is an antagonist eats your lunch at work, he didn't force you to be mad, but he did do something upsetting.))
To explain the first point, I know it seems ambitious to say that people view white men/boys as inherently evil, but i believe it: For example, there is one airlines that stopped a man from sitting in his designated seat because two other children had occupied next to him. It was against their policy to let men sit next to unoccupied minors... Or if a man does certain things it is not alright, but if a woman does it it's okay and fine (and yes that is something a lot of people probably don't like hearing).
A woman can say certain things a man cannot (same thing happens with race, a black person using the n-word is normally alright, but a white guy is forbidden from saying that... I understand it, but also it's self contradictory which i cannot ignore)
also i don't think we're trying to play the victim, but I can see that point of view.. A huge mistake people make now is claiming victomhood (both sides do it all the time) when they are not the victims.
Most of my opinions on postmodernism/socialism can be defined with this:
When we were being interobjective (building working systems and granting civil rights, personal and professional freedoms) everything was just grande, we were finally overcoming this long era of gender roles, racism, sexism etc
But now (and i am borrowing this from something I'm reading and have linked previously elsewhere on this forums) we live in a culture where (according to the great authors of postmodernist literature) "what is true for you is true for me and what is true for me is true for me" and anyone trying to sell any objective truth is bordering on the oppressive. However that is obviously self-contradictory because if there is no truth, then that cannot be the only truth because there is none. (this is pure intersubjectivism where culture is poisoning itself)
Pluralist egalitarians can accept everyone, but that is only in claim. They want nothing to do with organized religion or conventionalism, they don't like the churches' influence, and lots of them are strongly atheist, or just claim they are 'spiritual'.
final words: Let us all pray for us to globally achieve integration where we can all start moving on from this primitive state, quick! before we blow ourselves up!
Yes a lot of this was not my own original ideas, but this system is helping me to understand the world much, much better than I ever had before. especially regarding society and human development.

To your point about white males being viewed inherently negatively, I'm going to have to disagree. Outside of certain communities on the internet and maybe certain parts of university campuses, it is still favourable to be a white man than not, all else being equal. Intentionally or not, there's still a lot of cases where minorities or women are at a disadvantage especially for things involving positions of power e.g. politicians, doctors, lawyers, CEOs, etc.
I think part of the reason that people react that way might be that the communities that do think white men are to blame for everything are extreme and vocal e.g. the really bad parts of tumblr, or
this guy. People don't want to be told that they are to blame for everything. Also, I think that the increase in the wealth gap has made non-super wealthy white people to feel more disadvantaged (which is probably more true now than before) while there are people around them that tell them they are advantaged, so they shouldn't feel bad. I think this might drive some people to feel like they are being blamed when in reality they might be victims as well. In this sense I think that while I don't agree that white men are discriminated against (at least not in meaningful ways) I understand why some people might feel this way. I guess also part of it is that being a victim is seen as somehow virtuous more these days.
All in all I think the division between people are a symptom of a bigger systematic problem where the majority of the people don't really see a future with the way things are going i.e. increase in living costs without matching increase in wages, unstable job market, and decreasing amount of meaningful employment. And people are just looking to find ways to blame the problem on something else or someone else that looks like they might be benefiting from the system more than they are.
I'm not really sure if there's a point to be made on my end, but this is what my thoughts are on this topic. In any case I think people could stand to word their opinions in nicer words so that the other side might be willing to listen, but convincing the other side isn't always the main goal of saying things.
tldr groups of people do dumb things so dismantle the government and relocate people to make each part of the world as sparsely populated as possible

the media and the school system has become liberal, this scares me because people are being ruined.
what's going on now is severe enough that evolution needs to readjust itself (by realizing what the leading beliefs are doing wrong)
