Yeah. I like talking about religion and stuffs. About the only people I can talk to about it is my father and my mother, though. And my mother doesn't really like talking much about it.asdfkumquat wrote:I am awesome

Satan creates evil stuff. Like sin and temptation.vraiment wrote:I'm getting a little out of my space, but as far I can remember, Satan can't create, I can be wrong...Gamma wrote:Not all of them. Anyway, sin and temptation are negation of positive things, this is more philosophical stuff, sin it's an act that offends God, that means that you did something that doesn't show your love to God, something like ~Love2God, and a negation doesn't exist by itself, first need the positive to exist, something like: To ~A exists first we need that A exists. Therefor if sin and temptation are negations, first we need the positives and then they exist, they aren't created...
It have been a while since the last time I talked 'bout this things with that level ._.

Death can only destroy...
'As he was looking down at this he suddenly noticed something else. At first he thought it was a creature of more fantastic shape than he had yet seen on Perelandra. Its shape was not only fantastic but hideous. Then he dropped on one knee to examine it. Finally he touched it, with reluctance. A moment later he drew back his hands like a man who had touched a snake. It was a damaged animal. It was, or had been, one of the brightly coloured frogs. But some accident had happened to it. The whole back had been ripped open in a sort of V-shaped gash, the point of the V being a little behind the head. Something had torn a widening wound backward - as we do in opening an envelope - along the trunk and pulled it out so far behind the animal that the hoppers or hind legs had been almost torn off with it. They were so damaged that the frog could not leap. On earth it would have been merely a nasty sight, but up to this moment Ransom had as yet seen nothing dead or spoiled in Perelandra, and it was like a blow in the face. It was like the first spasm of well-remembered pain warning a man who had thought he was cured that his family have deceived him and he is dying after all. It was like the first lie from the mouth of a friend on whose truth one was willing to stake a thousand pounds. It was irrevocable.'

Re: Angels & Demons
Well, yes. Good needs evil to survive, and vice versa. Satan may mostly destroy, but temptation isn't necessarily the destruction of something good. It lives in the human mind, preying on sanity. It is created there.vraiment wrote:Well I'm saying this for last time, I'm tired of repeating it, so just remember it, I am NOT an expert in this things...Gamma wrote:Satan creates evil stuff. I didn't implied that, negation doesn't mean destruction, and I wasn't implying neither that Good needs evil to survive and vice versa.Gamma wrote:Well, yes. To exist, A doesn't need ~A, but ~A needs A, as far as the negation doesn't exist by itself, but A doesn't need ~A, ok?

There's a fun little discussion about that whole paradox in the movie Dogma. Much better than A&D, imho.

Re: Angels & Demons
It's been a while since I've seen it but I thought the byproduct of Loki and Bartleby's plan was to prove god wrong, which would negate existence? Goes with that whole idea that the devil only exists because god allowed its creation, like vraiment was talking about.

I thought we were in 21 century, were if I want to define the word 'sin' and use it in my day-on-day, there would be no problem... sometimes I believe we are still in the past...keja wrote:in my humble (or honest sometimes) opinion.
