Algebra, schmalgebra. It doesn't help you tally the grocery bill so what good does it do? I still remember how to derive the quadratic equation and it never once helped me do anything useful ever. You should start a petition, get as many signatures from working adults that you can that agree it does nothing for you, and then hand that in as your project with a letter stating you're boycotting future projects until someone proves algebra is worth the effort.

sigh...in all honesty, whatever you learn in school isn't going to be helpful. it's just an indicator of how much work you would be able to do elsewhere and your capability for doing some types of thinking. I have no idea where you got the notion that what you learned in school would be useful in your career.
