Luke had heard about the things happening in the north, with the war and all. Yet what this young man had seen was nothing compared to the work of the Plague. "Tell me," Luke mused, "why have you come to the Plague for help? We are an independent cause, and don't plan on getting friendly with your people. There's no reason for one of you to join the association." 
The visitor raised his head. Dark brown hair hung over his eyes, which he slowly opened to reveal dim points of blue light. It looked like the poor boy had been burned out completely.
