Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
Chrome is pretty. So pretty, in fact, that FF4 kind of emulates it. You can even get a skin to make it look even more like Chrome, if you want to. One thing I like about Chrome, though: The private browsing window existing at the same time as a normal window. Every once in a while, when my wife's co...

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
Chrome is glitchy and doesn't run Javascript in the same ways as other browsers. For most websites it's fine, but Firefox works better for me in most cases. You can still have your status bar. Just hitting alt will have it appear temporarily. You can also click on Firefox -> Options -> Menu bar. I c...

Re: Discussion thread [Serious]
I've been using it for a bit now, and I like it. It seemed to have a few glitches when I first installed it, but they haven't come up again since then.

I know that the Mayans grew a lot of beans, so at least some varieties are probably indigenous to Mexico and surrounding areas.

Re: Windows Aero help
I like the old school feel of Windows, so I don't have Aero enabled. (I have Vista, and a somewhat older computer, so I don't really want to task it by enabling Aero anyway). Get a list of your specs and see if you can find something on microsoft.com or msdn.com. I'm not sure how helpful msdn will b...

Re: three-dimensional logic and the philosophy of idealism
It's not "I think, then I exist" or "I exist, then I think." It's "I know that I exist because I think." If you didn't think, you may very well exist, but you couldn't prove it (I guess if you don't think, you couldn't even want to prove it). So therefore, because you think, you know that you exist ...

I'd rather be bakán than fome. Some differences between Mexican Spanish and Chilean Spanish (Vraiment or Maxon, correct me if I'm wrong): In Mexico, strawberries are fresas. In Chile, they're frutillas. In Mexico, straws are popotes. In Chile, they're bombillas. In Mexico, beans are frijoles. In Chi...

Here are my amateurish skills at work. Far from perfect, but I didn't want to spend a lot of time on it.

Re: The Daily Thread
True chili should still contain meat. I am not a fan of "veggie" anything, although I have no problem with the occasional vegetable in my meat dishes. I agree. I tried all of the chilies, veggie and traditional, and the veggie ones that were the best still had fake meat in them. If you're going to ...
