they totally did, and they were all stressed out, that's why they were doing and/or thinking of doing some really messed up stuff.

Don't say that, my dad's super intelligent and he's tried every drug in the book, he did speed for six months after he was fired, our house caught on fire on new years eve and my mom was thinking of divorce and suicide.
